Volunteering at the Bonneville 808 Challenge

The Bonneville 808 Challenge is a public cycling event. It was created with the objective of raising funds that will be distributed as bursaries to Quebec student-athletes who stand out both academically and athletically. The Challenge will take place on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23. Several hundred cyclists will participate in the second edition of the event. Last year’s successful inaugural event, which took place in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains, was enjoyed by all.

In order to make this year’s event just as great, the Foundation is seeking dynamic, committed volunteers to carry out a variety of functions throughout the event.

Examples of volunteer tasks:

Pre-event tasks:

  • Perform bicycle and vehicle checks
  • Welcome participants and distribute bags

Tasks to be performed at headquarters throughout the event:

  • Host participants in the Boscus Lounge (remain in the tent when participants and other volunteers visit the site)
  • Handle arrivals on Saturday (3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Sunday (3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
  • Perform traffic management during Saturday and Sunday arrivals (3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

Tasks to be performed on the course:

  • Help at refreshment stations
  • Monitor course sections
  • Patrol the course
